Private Cairo Tour from Sharm El Sheikh
In our opinion seeing Cairo is a must for anyone visiting Egypt. On our 2 day private Cairo tour you'll see more of the City and it's magnificent Mosques, Bazaars, and fortresses as you spend the night in the magnificent City.
Why 2 Days?
You'll see the same amazing sights as on our 1 day private tour of Cairo on the first day, and then instead of having to go back to your hotel in Sharm you'll spend the night in Cairo city before seeing more magnificent sights the next day.
Day 1 of the Cairo Tour
Well pick you up from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh and travel to Cairo in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach. When you arrive in the amazing city of Cairo, your first stop will be the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Cairo Tour to the Great Pyramid of Giza
The oldest of the seven wonders of the ancient world and sadly the only one that still remains largely intact, the Pyramids of Giza are the very reason a lot of people come to Egypt, and seeing them close-up never disappoints.
Composed of over 2.3 million blocks of granite weighing 25 - 80 tonnes each and constructed over a 20 year period concluding around 2560BC, the pyramids of Cairo was the tallest man-made structure for over 3,800 years, to this day we still do not know for sure exactly these amazing structures were built, although there are many theories.
During the Cairo tour we will give you much more information on the amazing Pyramids of Giza, and any questions you may have will be gladly answered by your professional, friendly Egyptologist tour guide.
The Sphinx
After you have seen the pyramids of Cairo, your next stop will be the Sphinx. The Great Sphinx of Giza is a mythological creature, formed of a lions body and a human head.
Standing over 73metres long and 20metres high, the The Great Sphinx of Giza is the oldest known monumental sculpture, and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom in the reign of the pharaoh Khafra.
During your tour of Cairo, you will find out how the nose of the Sphinx was broken off by Napoleon's soldiers, which can still be seen today. There are also theories of kings actually being buried inside the Sphinx!
Lunch on the Nile
Next up is a break for a delicious lunch on the Nile, a large buffet with foods to cater for all tastes and ages. This is a great opportunity to relax and take in the sights and smells of bustling Cairo before going to visit the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiquities.
Museum of Egyptian Antiquities
Inside this huge, world-famous museum you'll find some of the most important treasures from Ancient Egypt civilisation anywhere in the world, from Pharaonic antiques to the treasure found in the tomb of Egypt's best known King, Tutankhamen.
Spanning two floors, each section of the museum is dedicated to specific Kings, or time periods, even if you're not usually particularity into Egyptian history we find everybody finds it fascinating and a powerful experience to be so close to such historically important artefacts.
Built in neo-classical style, designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon the museum exceed 120,000 masterpieces ranges from pre-dynastic era, Pharaonic era to the Greco-roman period in Egypt and includes the treasures of the child King Tutankhamen, Pharaonic Gods and Goddess.
You can also visit the mummies room at the Egyptian Museum for a background about the Egyptian civilisation and the mummification art in ancient Egypt.
Shopping in the Bazaars of Cairo
After you have seen the pyramids, sphinx and other amazing sights that Cairo has to offer, you will have some free time for shopping in the world famous bazaars of Cairo - another big pull to tourists from all over the world.
Spend the Night in Cairo
After an action-packed day seeing the world famous sights of Cairo, you will be transferred to your comfortable hotel in the city centre of Cairo.

Day 2 of the Cairo Tour
On the second day, at about 9:00am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and make our way to the Citadel of Saladin, an amazing fortress built by King Saladin in 1170AD to protect the old city of Cairo. You can see the Citadel in the gallery below.
Citadel of Saladin Tour
The Saladin Citadel of Cairo is an imposing medieval Islamic fortress in Cairo, built upon a large hill between 1176 and 1183 CE, the citadel became the centre point of a wall to protect the medieval City of Cairo from the Crusaders.
Still used by Egyptian Government until the 19th century, the Citadel only stopped being the seat of government when Egypt's ruler Khedive Ismail moved to his newly built palace in the 1860s. On our guided tour of this magnificent fortress you'll see the original well built to supply the fortress numerous animal and human inhabitants. There are also many additions to the fortress over it's long history including Ottoman empire mosques, the Hall of justice and much more.
Stop for Lunch
Next we'll stop for a delicious buffet lunch in the centre of Cairo City, offering a large range of options to suit all tastes followed by an unforgettable walk through the sounds, sights and smells of the Khan El Khalili street.
Khan EL Khalili Bazaar
The bazaar district is one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike, here you'll find restaurants, coffee houses, famous mosques, universities, and plenty of shops!
Khan EL Khalili Bazaar has been described as one of the most interesting bazaars, not only in Egypt, but also in the whole Middle East. Originally the site of a mausoleum known as the saffron tomb, this was once the burial site for the Fatimid caliphs since 970 AD. At this time Egypt was being ravaged by the Black Death, however it continued to be the centre of great economic activity.
In the 14th century this cemetery was destroyed to make room for a large caravansary where merchants could sell there goods - all the bones from the buried royal family were simply thrown into the rubbish hills east of the city! By the 15th century the area around Khan el-Khalili had grown to become a major centre for foreign trade, the most important products on offer being precious stones and slaves.
In 1511 Khan el-Khalili was rebuilt to a style resembling Ottoman cities with large monumental gates and perpendicular streets which can be seen today.
Today Khan el-Khalili continues to be a massive area for trade, however we're glad to say you wont find any slaves on sales here any more, rather fantastic coffee shops selling authentic freh Arabic coffee and stalls selling souveniers, antiques, jewellery and much more.
By the end of your second day you will have experienced the real Cairo in depth and we will begin our return journey to back to Sharm el Sheikh by Bus.

Hi, I am planning a 1 day trip to Cairo. I am British passport holder and I will get visa for sharm on arrival. Do I need to apply for Egypt visa before travelling to Cairo or I can get it on arrival to Cairo.
Regarding the Egyptian Visa :
You must get the Egyptian visa before you leave your country or upon your arrival at Sharm airport if you will go on one or more of these excursions : Cairo by bus or Plane , Luxor by plane , Ras Mohamed by bus , Ras Mohamed By Boat , Diving trip in Ras Mohamed, but all other excursions you do not need this visa .
If you need this visa you will get it from the bank at the arrival hall upon your arrival at Sharm airport the cost per person only 10 GBP. Then you will put this visa stamp and go to passport control , it takes about 10 minutes , then across to the place where you will get your luggage and after that you will leave to your hotel .
